ICT MARJ Research and Analysis Facility
ICT-MARJ campus is very well equipped with the advanced and sophisticated Wet Lab, Reactor Lab and Instrumentation Facilities to support the cutting-edge research requirements for the students and researchers in the various domains of science, engineering and technology. It provides multidisciplinary research facilities for academic research institutes and private companies/industries in Marathwada region. Besides, some instruments such as XRD, ICP-MS, FT-IR etc. are open to all the researchers from universities, academic institutes, national research institutes and industries.
Research laboratories are commonly utilized for research work and analysis purposes. These environments have played a significant role to train and nurture the research scholar and other students. State-of-Art sophisticated instruments are installed at ICT-MARJ so that students will have hands on practice.
Research Lab Development
ICT-MARJ has well-furnished Wet Lab with all the necessary requirements including working tables, glassware, magnetic stirrer with hot plates alongside proper water supply. Safety showers also fitted at proper place by considering student safety. This lab is equipped with Fume Hoods for chemical reactions. Along with this centrifuge, and rota evaporators (make: Hedolph) used for distillation and isolation of products from reaction mass. It is also well equipped with advanced instruments like Hybrid automated microwave synthesis system for organic/inorganic pressurized reactions and synthesis of nanomaterials.
Along with this, Heatless Illumination with Desired Wavelengths for Photochemical Research i.e. Photoreactor (Make: Asahi Spectra) requires to perform UV, visible light catalytic applications including photocatalytic organic reactions, chemical synthesis and dye degradation applications. Electrochemical workstation (Make:Metrohm-Autolab) potentiostat/ galvanostat instruments are the cutting-edge technology that may be used in a wide range of electrochemical applications.
Modularity is a key aspect of Autolab Electrochemical equipment. The instrument is built on a multi-channel potentiostat/ galvanostat based on the compact Autolab PGSTAT204. The in-house available features like- cyclic voltammetry, linear sweep voltammetry, chronoamperometry, impedance spectroscopy, and charge discharge characteristics provide powerful techniques for understanding reaction kinetics, sensing materials, corrosion, energy conversion and storage studies.
Analysis of compounds and various products before or after the reactions is also important part of research. We have sophisticated analysis laboratory with several instruments like High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC, Make: Thermo Scientific), Gas Chromatography (GC, Make: Thermo Scientific), Gas Chromatography with Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS, Make: Shimadzu), Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR, Make: Jasco), Isothermal Titration Calorimetry (ITC) instrument is useful in quantitative studies of a wide variety of biomolecular interactions of organic molecules with larger macromolecules.
X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) instrumentation (D8 Advance, Make: Bruker) is a high-tech, non-destructive technique for analysing a wide range of materials, including fluids, metals, minerals, polymers, catalysts, plastics, pharmaceuticals, thin-film coatings, ceramics, solar cells and semiconductors. Throughout the industry and research institutions, XRD has become an indispensable method for materials investigation, characterization and quality control. Example areas of application include qualitative and quantitative phase analysis, crystallography, structure and relaxation determination, texture and residual stress investigations.
